I was surprised to learn that a Michigan-based corrections department works with the state parole board to help people get off parole if they haven’t completed their probation. This is because parolees can have a “negative” influence on someone who is in prison. For those in the Michigan department of corrections, it is their job to help former parolees stay out of prison by keeping them out of jail or probation.
The fact that the Michigan Corrections Department and the Michigan Parole Board are all working together to keep people out of prison is a good sign that the two organizations are working well together. When two groups that work so well together don’t, it definitely highlights a need for a single organization that is more focused on the parolees and less involved with the prison system.
The Michigan Department of Corrections isn’t really an organization that is focused on parolees. In fact, the Michigan Department of Corrections is currently the only department of corrections in the state that works exclusively with the Michigan Parole Board. However, the two departments do have one mission – to keep people out of prison (and not in prison).
What is more, the Michigan Department of Corrections is one of the largest employers in the state and its employees must be able to hold their jobs if they’re going to be able to keep their jobs. It isnt a great job for someone like the parole board.
As part of the parole board’s duties, the parole board was tasked with keeping people out of prison, and the parole board wanted them to be able to work in the morning and have no problems at home. But the parole board only wanted to get the job done before they could get to the point where they didnt have to go to prison and get out, and they didn’t want to have to take a chance at getting a job in prison.
As I understand it, every job in the corrections system has some sort of mandatory work requirement, so they cant just go around doing regular jobs. But since the parole board wanted to get their job done before they could get to the point where they didnt have to go to prison, they needed to keep their jobs. It isnt like they cant take a job at any prison, so there was no problem there.

When the department of corrections finds that a prisoner is abusing drugs, they can send that prisoner to a place like the michigan department of corrections where they can get a job. The michigan department of corrections lets the parole board know that the prisoner is using drugs, so they can send him there and get him to take care of his habit.
In this scenario, the michigan department of corrections will put a hold on the prisoner’s parole. That means that the parole board does not have the authority to revoke his parole. If they do, the prisoner can get served in the michigan department of corrections and just have his day in court.
