Wholesaler License: This license allows for the distribution of cannabis to retailers and businesses that provide such services as cultivation services and production facilities, transportation companies, and packaging facilities.

How to Apply:

If you are applying for a Wholesaler License. You must prove financial stability and include all required city/county taxes and fees. Alternatively, if you are applying as a Processor. You will need to prove financial stability and include all required city/county taxes and fees; however, you do not require to submit all required documentation.

Microbusiness License: This license allows for direct sales of marijuana to consumers but does not allow for distribution of saleable products to other locations or individuals; this includes driving from an area business licensed as a microbusiness into another state where it is legal.

If you are applying for a Microbusiness License. You will need to provide supporting documents and all required city/county taxes and fees. Those who wish to apply as a Processor must include all required city/county taxes and fees. However, they do not require proving financial stability. Additionally, those applying as Retailer or Microbusiness must have a business location to sell the marijuana legally.

Micro-Grower License: This license allows for multiple business entities under one roof. The licensee must have only one physical location, which cannot be within 500 feet of an elementary or secondary school or daycare centre; there are no restrictions on retail sales on a non-profit basis. Micro-growers are an amalgamation of a retailer and grower application that allows businesses to display their products in the growing environment.

If you are applying for a Micro-Grower License.You will need to provide supporting documents and all required city/county taxes and fees. Those who wish to apply as a Processor must include all required city/county taxes and fee. However, they do not require proving financial stability. Additionally, those applying as Retailer, Microbusiness or Micro-Grower must have a business location to sell the marijuana legally.

It is also important to note that you cannot apply for more than one license in the same city at a time. However, you can apply for multiple licenses in the same county.

How The Result Will Be Decided?

The method that the licensing authority will choose to use when deciding whether to grant a license is unclear. So it is best to research your proposed location on the state’s website now. If you qualify for one or all of the licenses then see. For example, the City of Detroit’s website lists a business type called “Retailer” to obtain the necessary application and supporting documents. However, there is no link to the proper application.

What Happens when michigan marijuana license types get Next?

Once you have completed your paperwork and are approved, you will receive a notice of receipt of application (ROOA) which serves as your acceptance letter. This ROOA is the first of many documents you will need to submit to receive your license. Once you have received it, you must publish a notice of compliance (NOTC) before starting any marketing or advertising campaigns.
