Michigan’s State of Emergency is a program of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) to encourage the use of Michigan’s public lands and waters in the state. The purpose of this program is to remind the public of the importance of conservation and the protection of the environment through education, public involvement, and the use of federal resources.
The Michigans, or “Michigan’s Natural Lands,” are managed land that is owned by the state of Michigan and held under a conservancy. They are also trying to protect endangered species, especially the otter, which is now listed as threatened. It’s something they’ve been trying to do for some time now, but it’s something that is really going to have a big impact on the area.
As it turns out, Michigan is becoming a hotbed for endangered species, though not just otters. In fact, this is one of the reasons why the state is putting more money into the endangered species fund, because if another state comes in and invests in it, it can be a catalyst for other states to follow suit.
