Well, I’ve been in this business for about a year now and I have yet to see a report like this. I am not sure how to even find out if the user was talking about lyft. Even if its just the name, it probably wouldnt be reported. The reports of accidents are also public information that the Lyft would have had to follow the same rules as any other car company.
You’ve got to remember that accident reports are public information. So if Lyft was able to report every accident that it caused, it would be a full public record. As it stands, the only information that the report includes is the identity of the person involved in the accident, and the nature of the accident. You can check your report against your own records to see if you’ve been in an accident yourself.
This is a good point. You can go to the accident report page and check your own reports against the public record, but that’s very limited. Plus because the accident report is public information, unless you’ve had previous accidents, you’re more likely to find that you’ve been in an accident or have other information that would make you think you were in an accident.
