My family and friends are my most important people in my life. I have spent a lot of time in prison, and I have not been able to see them. For a long time, I was sure I would be released in the year after I got out.
I am not talking about just being a parole violator. I am talking about being a parole no-show. That is, being incarcerated for having no intention of attending your parole hearing. I am sure that not all parolees are like this. Some are just waiting for the right day to show up and start the process. It’s not as simple as saying “I’m out of here” or “I’m out of here for good.
There is no official process for parole. I have been incarcerated for 20 years, and I have been waiting to get out for a few years, but I have no idea when I will be let out. I know I will be in prison when I get out, but I have no idea when I will get out. I just know that I will get out when the day comes that I will be able to walk through the doors and go home and not dread having to leave my home again.
