how much does it cost to have a felony expunged

With all the scandals that have occurred in the criminal justice system, it’s hard to say what the cost to having your felony expunged would be. While the process to get a guilty plea from your record is time consuming and costly, there are ways to get the charges dropped that are less costly.

One of those ways is making sure that the case was tried in front of a judge. In many cases, that means you will need to have a criminal record expunged – even if it is only for a year. So if you’ve ever wanted to have a criminal record expunged or have one removed, now is the time. If you have a pending case, you might want to speak with a criminal defense attorney right away.

If you’ve got a felony expunged or have one removed, you can still get for $40.00.

The most common reason people don’t want to see a conviction expunged is for a crime. Many people just want to see a conviction expunged. If you are caught and sentenced for a crime, the judge may or may not be willing to have you removed from the case. You will probably want to see the conviction expunged so you don’t have to go through a trial or get a conviction expunged.

People who have been convicted of a felony can, however, apply for a hearing to be reinstated and have their punishment expunged. This is a completely different process than an expunged conviction and is typically a lot more expensive.

When you don’t have a conviction expunged, you can take out your plea but not a guilty plea. People who don’t plead guilty will get a very little while longer from the prison system but they won’t get more time than they get from a conviction expunged.

The question is, how much does it cost? I found out the hard way. I was in front of the court trying to get my conviction expunged and the judge said (to the officer), “I have NO idea what a felony is”. I was shocked! I was sure that my case was about to be overturned but by the time I read the case law, I had already decided not to fight it.

Of course, I wasn’t the only one. It turns out that people who plead not guilty and get a year or so more time are not as innocent as they seem. The system is definitely flawed, and you can’t really just sit back and let it happen.

In order to have your conviction expunged you have to do something (for example, plead guilty and pay a fine). But the law states that it only applies to cases in which the prosecutor was actually innocent of the crime they were charged with. And the prosecutor can only charge you with a felony in that situation. In other words, it’s all but impossible to have your conviction expunged.

True, in this case it’s not clear exactly what happened, and the only thing we know is that the police arrested you at a gas station for possession of alcohol. But the prosecution was actually innocent. The only thing they were guilty of was being corrupt.
