Michigan law requires juveniles to be charged with a crime if they are convicted of a crime and have not been convicted of a crime for a minimum of five years. It was also the law that they were considered a minor for the purposes of committing a sex offense. That was the only crime the minor was charged with.
The law says that if two juveniles are charged with a state crime, they are not a minor. We don’t understand why it’s so important to have a minor in the first place. We’re also supposed to have a little bit of an attitude toward the other juvenile offenders.
At first glance it seems a little harsh, but its how it’s written. One of the reasons why I love the state is because they don’t want anyone to be a criminal for the rest of their lives. Even if you are convicted of the crime, you can be in the system for the rest of your life and never be tried for the offense that you were convicted for.
